Whit this project we want to give an overview, not exhaustive anyway, of Buena Madera’s musical registers. Giving up on stylistic unity we want to space out throughout genres, from post metal to stoner, to post punk by way of doom metal. We choose to produce all by ourselves in our practice room in Baone, a little hamlet situated between the Euganean Hills near Padua, with no external help if not for mastering definition.

SPIA
This song is the symbol of our new journey. Ants running in the ear of the listener during riff stoner and psychedelic textures are disentangle and that they overlap in a purely math momentum, before the punk explosion. The sense of Buena Madera is to recall old riffs as The Black Sabbath to give them new sense and shape.

NONA
The most engagedy track for us, for the first time at the centre of all there’s the voice, while the rest of the others instruments celebrate the drama of the story: the ghost of a woman that wouldn’t go away. In the head there was A Forest Of The Cure, the desire to be minimal and try to express a precise feeling. We are proud about this song.

BEAR
In the valley it’s rainin cats and dogs. There’s a boy, a little Atreyu, he looks at the mountain and wants to go up to purify himself, only then he can returns to the valley to face his own demons. The lyrics is about the prayer to the god of mountain.
Also this song was a challenge for us, succeeding in support of monolithic riffs for an epic and melodic doom-metal, out of our standards. Our tribute to the Electric Wizard and the first High on Fire, where marijuana has been replaced by magic mushrooms.

NIGO
What happens during the night, in the service stations scattered in the endless american highways? Anthropic places without human presence. A reckless man would like to go and see, he will find some strange elves that will take him into their world for millennia, between torture and horror. But one day he will come back to scream us his crazy story. A quick and acidic ride, a song written during an evening.

RASA
This is the only track that was on the old demo too, for personal pleasure we wanted to compare ourselves with the old version of Buena Madera, fortunately, the brutality remained. This is a Madera’s old school song, our most natural way of writing, Of under acid and amphetamines Melvins before the final solution, mindful of Black Sabbath more progressive.

Col presente lavoro si intende dare una panoramica, comunque non esaustiva, dei registri musicali dei Buena Madera. Rinunciando ad una compattezza stilistica si è voluto spaziare tra i generi, passando dal post metal allo stoner, dal post punk al doom metal.
Si è scelta un’autoproduzione totale nella nostra sala prove a Baone, un paesino sui colli della bassa padovana, senza alcun aiuto esterno se non per la definizione del mastering.

Il brano simbolo del nostro nuovo percorso. Formiche corrono sull’orecchio dell’ascoltatore mentre si dipanano riff stoner e tessiture psichedeliche che si accavallano in uno slancio puramente math, prima dell’esplosione punk. Il senso dei Buena Madera è rimasticare riff vecchi come i Black Sabbath per dargli nuovo senso e forma.

NONA
Il brano più impegnativo per noi, per la prima volta al centro c’è la voce col resto degli strumenti ad esaltare il dramma del racconto: il fantasma di una donna che non se ne va. In testa c’era A Forest dei The Cure, la volontà di essere minimali e provare ad esprimere un sentimento preciso. Siamo orgogliosi di questo brano.

BEAR
Nella vallata piove a dirotto. C’è un ragazzo, un piccolo Atreyu, guarda la montagna e vuole salirla per purificarsi, solo allora potrà tornare a valle ad affrontare i propri demoni. Il testo è la sua preghiera al dio della montagna.
Anche questo brano è stata una sfida per noi, riuscire a sostenere riff monolitici per un doom-metal epico e melodico, fuori dai nostri standard. Il nostro omaggio agli Electric Wizard e ai primi High on Fire, dove la marijuana è stata sostituita dai funghi magici.

NIGO
Cosa succede di notte, nelle stazioni di servizio sparse tra le infinite highways americane? Luoghi antropici senza presenza umana. Un imprudente vuole andare a vedere, vi troverà degli strani folletti che lo porteranno nel loro mondo per millenni, tra torture e orrori. Ma un giorno egli tornerà per urlarci la sua folle storia. Una cavalcata acida e veloce, un brano scritto nel giro di una serata.

RASA
Questo è l’unico brano già presente nel vecchio demo, per piacere personale volevamo metterci a confronto con la vecchia versione dei Buena Madera, fortunatamente la cazzimia è rimasta. Questo è un brano classico dei Madera, la nostra scrittura più naturale, dei Melvins sotto acido e anfetamine prima della soluzione finale, memore dei Black Sabbath più progressive.
